hot july 8th
it was a hot hot trail run this morning
trail are drying out until the rain comes in
and then we have some good mud
trail obstacles are all around
and fun to run over under around and through
and when you get to the deep horse tracks it is a nice little
monkey balance walk
and a good way to strengthen the ankles
time to go to work
happy trails all you runners, walkers and hikers

hi folks
on Wed July 8, we showed the race course to the park staff (Brent- great guy!) and they will make sure it is open as and cleaned of fallen trees and the brush all trimmed back before race day!
The staff at Barkcamp State Park has been great to us every year since we started in helping us out..Thanks guys and Jackie and Kay too!
In another interesting development we are now the warm up race for the Bobcat Marathon on Nov 7 and the Bigfoot 50K on Dec 5. The Bobcat is at Burr Oak State Park and the Bigfoot at Salt Fork SP. Next year we are hoping to have a sort of state park trail running series going on!
Great to see trail running finally attracting a bigger crowd around our state!
Stay hydrated and be careful out there running / walking
